Meet our Auditor
My name is Mostafa AlShamy and I am the Consultancy and Audit Manager of EGYBYTE – Egypt with an experience of over 18 years in Information Security and Technology fields, as well as GRC.
I participated and managed many ITSM and Governance implementation and auditing projects within the MENA and also conducted audits worldwide that gained high customer satisfaction and recognition. I have also lectured courses in technical, information security and management to thousands of students in English and Arabic languages.
I hold different Lead Auditor and Lead Implementer Certifications which in one way or another relate to area of GRC such as: ISO/IEC 20000, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27701, ISO 22301, ISO 9001. Furthermore, I am certified as Lead Disaster Recovery Manager, Lead Risk Manager, ITIL Expert, PRINCE2 Practitioner, PRINCE2AGILE Practitioner, CPDE, M_o_R, COBIT5 Implementer/Assessor, ISO/IEC 38500 Governance Lead Manager, MCSE, CEH, and SSCP. As per my education, I have a Master’s degree in IS and currently I am a PHD candidate. I am also a SME in ITIL.
Along with the above, I also have gained several skills and talents including high teaching and presentation skills since I am an Accredited Trainer (AT) form APMG, LCS, PECB. In addition, I would like to emphasize my achievement where I managed to become MSECB Approved Auditor. Additionally, I deal with business needs in a simple way while managing change resistance cleverly.
About your experience in auditing in general
Conducting audits is all about finding out whether a specific management system is compliant towards the audited standard and identification of potential non-conformities. Auditing can be one of the easiest or toughest jobs one can imagine. It all depends on how the auditor can manage the relationship with the auditee and simultaneously provide the most in-depth and professional audit. Thus, giving the right comments and conclusions requires high level of expertise and professionalism so that the auditee accepts them easily and moves towards improvements. In my opinion, a good auditor should become the quality witness instead of policy inspector.
About your experience with MSECB
In the last four years, I have conducted tens of audits over four continents on behalf of MSECB. I have gained a lot of experience and audited many organizations that were committed to expressing their quality and continual improvement.
